This room actually gets a lot of light because the the wall opposite the desk is almost entirely comprised of windows. The ceilings are 10′, which also keeps this room light. One of the initial problems with this room when it was previously painted a light color and had light furnishings, was that it was cold and uninviting.

Is it just this photo, or does the room seem dark for an “office”? It will definitely be an improvement to dress up the ceiling, but that white expanse would tend to distribute light. Will you have to work around the recessed lights?
