For those of you living in the Boston area, did you know that every first Friday of the month the SoWA artists at 450 Harrison Avenue, have their studios open to the public from 5-9 pm? This is a very fun event I try to attend as often as possible. There is even a large, FREE parking lot… yes, FREE… (a rare occurrence in Boston!), right around the corner from the studios. I love the feel of SoWA on a First Friday night. The streets are filled with art patrons and great restaurants in the area abound. There are 4 huge floors of artists in their studios at #450, graciously awaiting your arrival. You wander in and out of the various studios, marveling at the creativity and talent, while sipping wine and sampling the many treats the artists put out for their guests. It’s a very fun and relaxing evening and the artists are always willing and ready to chat a bit with you about their work.
This past Friday, Marc Bordet (Bordet Interiors) and I stopped by to visit with Tasha Cough, who is located in studio #310 at 425 Harrison Ave. Tasha, is not only a fabulous decorative painter, who has helped me on jobs, but also a talented fine artist. We had the pleasure to meet Rima Bechara, another decorative painter, who stopped by with her husband.

It was great to finally meet Rima! We have been exchanging emails for months and trying to get together.
