Just roll it with the design on the outside, so when you lay it down again, the edges won’t curl up. I just repainted that floorcloth pictured above and put it in my kitchen. I’ve had that floorcloth for several years now and it was rolled up in my basement for a while.

I tape on the inside of the pencil marks, then I just erase them before I paint or poly. You could use a colored chalk too, and just wipe it off. Just wipe it off before painting or using glaze or poly so the little marks don’t show through. 🙂
