I almost forgot to mention that even though these homeowners were repeat clients, I had never met them. A few years ago they hired me from a referral from a fellow decorative painter, who retired from this business. They wanted some birch tree logs done in a room in their vacation home in NH. I did the job, but since they were not there at the time, never met. Here is a pic from that job done in 2011 and since I’ve been blogging here for years, you can see my original post if you click here.
Alright… back to the current job in their Massachusetts home. Now I’ve moved onto the Living Room/Pool Room/Bar area. This is another huge room. The Living Room portion is sunken with one step down and divided from the area where a pool table resides. There is also a third section that will have a bar constructed. I am doing a very subtle 3 color glaze in here, with some stenciling on the dividing walls. This photo shows the 3 color glaze finish, at the entry point to the LR/Pool Room from the Dining Room. The carpeting in the dining room and the living room (far right) will be replaced, as well as all the parquet flooring which extends into the Bar and Pool Room areas.
Looking from the Pool Room side into the sunken Living Room. The chairs you see at the Pool Table, will return to the Dining Room when that is put back together.
Remember, this floor is going and something is going to happen with the white cabinets, but not sure what yet. One of my favorite stencils designs, Scroll Allover was used here.
Two other views of the Pool Room area.
Once the floor and carpet are in and the bar area constructed, I will post more pics, but that won’t be for a while.
