The Opening for the Holiday Tables at the Newport Museum of Art seemed to be a big success. Marc’s room was received warmly, although the museum itself, was freezing that night! This is the first time the museum has done such an event and I think they were quite surprised at the turn out. There was not nearly enough food to go with all the great wines that were there for the wine tasting. Also, the duo that was there for background music were stuck up on a landing, far away from where the crowd gathered. The staff at the museum are very nice and appreciative of all who took part in this event and I am sure they will work out the kinks next time around. I give them high marks for all of their effort and enthusiasm!
This shot is from the main entry door to the room. All those little white tented cards say "please do not touch", or "please do not sit"…Oh, note my stenciled tablecloth! 😉
This angle shows a bit of the fireplace with is dripping with glittery ferns, garlands, etc! The table and paintings belong to the museum, and the 2 chairs by the windows. All other chairs, tables, accessories, even the window treatments, were placed there by Marc.
My other contribution, the napkins…. Very dark in this room, so pics came out not so good. 🙁 I’m hoping Marc’s came out better, and if so, I will post his.
