My morning started with me poking my mascara wand in my eye and a freak accident with an electric toothbrush. The toothbrush part flew off the base and the metal piece that it slides onto cut my upper lip. So, I looked liked I had been battered as I drove to work with a blood shot eye and a swollen, cut lip! Good thing it was a long commute and my wounds had some time to calm down before I arrived!
I am back at the Commercial Job, completing the last of 3 buildings. Remember Ms. Control Freak? Well, she is nowhere in sight and I have worked it out so I no longer deal with her at all on this project. The final straw for me was her putting a "hold" on the payment due for the 2nd building I completed this Summer. I waited over 90 days for that check and had to make repeated phone calls and emails to get to the bottom of it all. Ms. Control Freak repeatedly told me she was looking into where my payment was and all along, she had put a "hold"on it, for no reason! So, this time, when I received the call that the final building was ready for me, I calmly stated to her supervisor that I would return on 2 conditions. One, I would no longer deal with Ms. Control Freak on any level, and two, a check for the full balance would be waiting for me the day I arrived to work. So far, so good. The check was there, along with 2 new, very pleasant, management staff in the office.
Today I completed 5 floors of this fennel design. You see this when you step off the elevator on each floor.
I also did 2 panels using this allium flower design in the Lobby. I will add a little detailing tomorrow. I forgot my liner brush. These are the exact same designs that are in the other 2 buildings, so it’s a no brainer.
Today I will be doing the dreaded Rattan ceiling in the Entrance. Last time I did this stencil, I had help and it was about 100 degrees in the Entrance, with very high humidity. It took us 2 days. I only refer to this as "dreaded" because I need to complete this ceiling 1 day, if I am to stay on schedule, so I’m hoping there will be no surprises!
All stencil designs for this project are from the Stencil Library.
