Today I would like to introduce to you a new blog, Stencil Talk, that I will be writing, in partnership with my friend and fellow stencil advocate, Julie Krefta. I have been wanting, for some time now, a forum for promoting the Art of Stenciling. Julie is the creator of StencilSearch.com, a wonderful website which is an online guide to stenciling, stencils, and stencil artists. Julie, a technical whiz when it comes to website designs, wanted a blog connected to her StencilSearch site. We did a little brainstorming and decided that I would write the posts and she would take care of making them all look "pretty". Since I can be technically challenged when it comes to making the text line up with the photos, etc., I can’t tell you how nice it is to just type my post and not worry about the technical details!
Stencil Talk will differ from Painter Girl in that it will feature not only my work, but the work of stencil artists around the country and world. Books related to stenciling will be reviewed, current stenciling trends discussed and featured, interviews with some of our top stencil designers, and Do It Yourself stencil projects will be posted. Stencil Talk welcomes the novice stenciler, seasoned stenciler and anyone who has an interest and appreciation for the Art of Stenciling. I hope my readers will stop by Stencil Talk to say hello. If any of you know of a Stencil Artist, have a favorite book about Stenciling that you would like to share or have a stencil project that our readers would enjoy, please contact me here. Please put the words "Stencil Talk" in the subject line. We are currently working out our posting schedule, but Stencil Talk will aim to have a post published Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
I will continue to share my day to day life as a Decorative Painter, here at Painter Girl, per usual.
