Well, here we are in December! As I look around my house, I see many projects that I had hoped to get to this year, but time has just run out. I am happy to say I was able to finish my Back Hall Makeover though and I think I’ll just end the year with that home project. I’ll be moving onto Christmas crafts for the month of December.
Back in October, I began working on this Back Hall, which is MY main entry into my house. Most guests use my front door, so this area had been sadly neglected.
Here you see the left side of the Hall, with the Before picture on the left:
Work done:
ripped up tile, painted plywood subfloor
put down a thin yoga mat for a runner
painted all woodwork and 2 doors in a charcoal black
painted door to outside, grey and etched window panes
painted a few free form flowers on small wall space
used a texture paint on walls (to hide cracks!) and painted green
The door is steel and had been painted once before, (Left). Etching the glass allows some light to come in but also gives me a little privacy and I no longer need a window treatment.
A closer look at an etched pane.
The back side of the door into my kitchen from this Hall was painted with Chalkboard paint. I have a blank monthly calendar template painted on the top portion of the door and just erase and change monthly.
