Yesterday I had to leave at 1:30 p.m. and of course, had to sit down at noon to watch the inauguration, so it’s a miracle that I was able to get this far with the Powder Room! Here you see the base paint color, Silhouette, and the beginning of a skip trowel of Red Sable Shimmered Suede. For those of you who are not familiar with this product, it is a heavy bodied metallic plaster that is available in many colors. For this finish, I was just randomly troweling on 1 layer.

Here you see the completed process, with a thin layer of bronze metallic glaze over everything. Tomorrow I will add the stencil and this room will be done. I am putting together some samples for the foyer, dining room, formal living room and a 2nd powder room for this house. I will also try to remember to take pictures of the kitchen cabinets, which is a project Stacy and I did together back in November of last year. We are painting the kitchen walls and an office/breakfast room that is open off of the kitchen in solid shades of gold, no finish. The gold tones are really warming up this house! It’s fun to see the transformation from All White Walls!
