Beacon Hill Powder Room

Last week I featured a few sample boards I knew I would be using on jobs this week. Stacy and I are back at the Beacon Hill job site working on several miscellaneous, small projects.

In this small powder room, a false front was added to conceal the pipes below the corner sink. Here it is in it’s rough state.

Here it is "after". I used 5 different metallic glazes, all applied one right after the other with a chip brush. Quick and easy. 🙂

Stacy had already done the finish on these walls about a month ago. It’s hard to see in these photos, but the wall has a little texture to it, since her finish was troweled on. Because the room is so small and there is no window, it still needed something, so I used the hammered copper toilet paper holder and towel bar as my inspiration.

I used a stencil I have had for many years now. Again, a timeless design from Royal Design Studio. For the first layer, I troweled Copper Palette Art through the stencil. I let this dry overnight since I had a other things to do at this house.

The next morning, it was completely dry, so I repositioned the stencil and used a small sea sponge to apply a little black paint. This toned down the bright copper and gave it a more hammered/aged look to match the hardware.
