First, Opening Day for the Red Sox was a lot of fun! I wanted to post a pic of both my daughter and myself at the game, but the pics are on her camera and she has not sent them over yet. 🙁 I’m sure she’ll pull it all together over the weekend, so I’ll post next week. Anyway, we won and it did not rain. The sun was actually out for most of the game, although it was only around 45-50 degrees. We wore lots of clothing and also brought a blanket, so we stayed fairly warm!
I was holding off on finishing this wall with Lusterstone because I was waiting for the electrician. He came and did his thing, so I was able to finish up here. The homeowner will hang some narrow shelving here, but it will be left fairly simple and clean.
The panel above the bench area in this back hall is going to have some giant ferns. After going back and forth with several different ideas, my client decided she wanted to blow up a picture of some ferns, to fill the space. I made an overhead and projected, to get the desired size. Here you see it hand sketched onto the wall with watercolor pencils. Tomorrow I will hand paint and it will be done. 🙂
<>The next project will be to carry this multi-glaze finish I did about 5 years ago, into the new kitchen space. You can see my sample boards taped onto the new wall. I kept good records from when I did the finish the first time, so it was not too difficult to come close. The problem will be in areas like above this door where you see a sharp, straight line. I’ll have to break that line up and do a lot of feathering to make it blend seamlessly.
This wall will also be trouble! I will paint out that bay window area and start over, but where you see this big patched area, that wall connects directly to a long wall that runs into the family room, and I don’t want to paint all of that out. Again, lots of blending and feathering!
This is the Family Room area that I did several years ago and is still in tact from the remodel.
This is where the new addition begins. So, as you can see, I’ll have my work cut out for me when this gets underway. I am waiting for the tile guy to come next week and install the back splash. I can work in this area where there will be no tile, but I’m not sure what the schedule is right now.
